Review:
I hate to start with a review saying a book was cute but this one was. The whole premise of a time traveling witch with the help of an ex-boyfriend PI and her book editor to solve mysteries is just way to appealing for me. I blame Harlie for the witch reference. The bonus is the paranormal element that is expertly woven in, too. Ms. Foster does a great job of making the paranormal believable and not over the top. You never know who works at the corner store or what the woman in front of you in the carpool line really does all day.
I’m not going to give away much the way rehashing the plot and the players because you really need to read this book. You get the whole package regarding plot, characterizations, world building and dialogue are wonderful. Ms. Foster has a way with words and the dialogue spoken between her characters is awesome. They are believable even if this is a paranormal. You get a sense of who they are and what’s makes them tick. The only person that didn’t get that much treatment was Jack. Even in the time travel aspect, I never felt like I got to know him. I’m sure that Ms. Foster has a reason and she is writing the next book. 😉
The time travel is great. I love how the author uses this a plot device and it brings the mystery and intrigue together. 🙂 Plus, it was fun to read. I love time travel book and this one is a good one. There is enough intrigue, mystery and plot twists to keep you on your toes. I will caution you though that the romance is not the point of this book. Yes, we get a bit of it but with two men in the mix, Ms. Foster does a great job of not throwing the romance in our faces. The book is perfect just the way it is. Great plot, believable/relatable characters and enough mystery to keep you guessing.
I highly recommend Time Spell and this was a great way to start a series. 🙂 Don’t miss it.

T.A. Foster is a Southern girl whose heart and spirit are connected to the beach. She grew up catching rays and chasing waves along the North Carolina Outer Banks and now resides in the state with her adventurous pilot husband, two children and two canine kiddos.
Her long love affair with books started at an early age and as soon as she was able, she transformed imaginative stories into words on paper. Time Spell is T.A.’s debut novel, and the first in a series about a very adventurous, clever, and magical girl named Ivy.
T.A. has an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University.
