Isabelle Clark always had ideas, but that’s all they ever were . . . until now. She grew up in a world filled with poverty and hatred from the person who gave birth to her and had decided she would finally make her ideas a reality. After moving away to college as a junior she ran into the University of Maryland’s walking one-night stand. Literally.

Maddox Mitchell was every girl’s wet dream all in one muscled, tattooed, pierced, baseball playing package. He thought he had the life: going to school, tattooing people by day, and giving girls the best orgasms of their life by night. When he found out that Financial Aid didn’t fully cover Isabelle’s room and board Maddox had an idea: Isabelle should move in with him.

On the outside everybody sees Isabelle as a quiet bookworm and Maddox as a player, both on and off the baseball diamond. They soon learn who the other truly is. Either way, they’re about to realize this idea was a beautiful one.

Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains explicit sex scenes and/or situations and adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

Excerpt #3

The next morning we had breakfast with everyone. I don’t know how Sharon managed but she made everything and anything you could think of. Pancakes with real maple syrup, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, bacon, sausage, eggs, buttered toast with your choice of homemade strawberry or grape jam and finally a fruit salad made up of honeydew, watermelon, strawberries, grapes, and cantaloupe. There was also freshly brewed coffee with cream and sugar, hot tea, and orange juice.

I couldn’t believe how amazing it all looked. I grabbed a bowl and a fork because I just wanted some fruit salad and a mug filled with hot coffee. I sat down at the dining room table and just as I was about to take a bite of honeydew and watermelon a plate was set in front of me with a waffle topped with strawberries and whipped cream. I looked up and saw Maddox sitting down next to me with a plate filled to the rim with eggs, sausages, and bacon and another plate with pancakes. He took a bite of his eggs and then looked over at me. “Isabelle, you need to eat.”

In all honesty, I wasn’t all that hungry. I leaned over and whispered, “I’d rather eat the strawberries and whipped cream off you.” I saw him start to choke on his eggs. He grabbed my hand and put it on his crotch. I took in a shaky breath because he was as hard as a rock and after he swallowed the food in his mouth he whispered for only my ears, “We can definitely make that happen and you bet your sweet tasting little pussy we will.”

I could feel my cheeks getting red and then I looked over at him and saw that his pupils were dilating. I thought I was going to come right there but I shook the thoughts off and looked away. I took a bite of my food ignoring Maddox. By this time Todd, Sharon, and Callie were seated at the table eating their breakfast as well.

Todd was busy reading the morning paper and sipping his coffee. Sharon and Callie were stuck in their own world talking about going shopping and then going out to lunch to notice what I was about to do.

I don’t know what came over me but I went for it. As soon as Maddox took a bite of his eggs I pushed my hand into his sweatpants and grabbed his erection. He started choking but I kept my hand where it was and just started to move my hand up and down faster. I picked up my coffee cup and pretended to take a sip when in actuality I was giggling into it. I was also wondering how long I could keep this going. That’s when I noticed the waffle with whipped cream and strawberries staring at me. I put my coffee cup down and replaced it with a fork and picked up a strawberry and dipped it into the whipped cream.

Maddox must have noticed what I was doing because he said, “Oh God.” I turned to Maddox and placed the whipped cream covered strawberry to my lips. I stuck my tongue out, licked that strawberry clean and then pushed the fork as far as I could into my mouth. I sucked the strawberry off with a loud POP. All the while I was stroking him as hard and as fast as I could manage.

I never took my eyes off Maddox and the second the fork left my mouth he came in my hand.

Oh yeah, breakfast of champions right here!

About the Author:emckee-authorphoto

When I’m not writing future books in The Beautiful Series, as well as coming up with ideas for standalones I am buying every single Young Adult novel there is out there in the hopes to read them in the future.  I am also currently working towards a major in Liberal Arts where I had planned on writing about real life – real people in real situations.  Although that all changed over Christmas Break of 2012 when I got the idea for A Beautiful idea and that part became Chapter 16.  I guess the best things in life really do come from the unexpected and I now know what I want to do for the rest of mine.  In my spare time I have a part-time job and I take care of my little barking girl Annabelle Leigh.  I love listening to music of all genres and I love going to the movies, as well as the mall.  Come on?  I’m a girl!

Interesting Facts:

  • I’m obsessed with coffee . . . Green Mountain Dark magic.  If you use milk, sugar or both you are evil!
  • I love to cuddle!
  • I have a weird fascination with pillows . . . my bed is covered with them.
  • Cheetos are my kryptonite.
  • Channing Tatum is my boyfriend.

Top ten things you don’t know about me:

1.  Cotton or Silk?

Depends if I’m wearing them or someone else is!

2.  Champagne/beer/wine?

Like’em all, but I’ll take an uber-frosty Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewing anyday! Oooo, where is that?

3.  Plotter/pantser?

Shouting it from the rooftops! —PANSTERS RULE!

4.  Describe your workspace

Leather couch, feet up on coffee table, cats interfering with typing and huz yelling at the manager of the Detroit Tigers.  Harlie writes with Cartoon Network on.  She hates Spongebob to this day.  LOL!

5.  Sports fan or just tolerate it?

Fan. Spent a couple of years seeing Tigers/Astros/Padres catch, Brad Ausmus anywhere nearby. (Stop…I am not a stalker, I’m a ‘patron.’)  Pink here…sure, you go right ahead and believe that.  LOL!  I watched that backside when he was with the Astros, too.  *sigh*  I’m sure you have seen him without his shirt on, right?  *fans self*

6.  Who is your biggest influence on writing?

Tough one – it’s a tie between James Rollins and Brad Thor.  I love their continuing characters and clear action.

7.  Favorite food –

Skordalia from the Pegasus in Detroit’s Greektown, before the casinos were there!
8.  When did you start writing?

In the womb…no seems that way. I’ve been in media all my life…so…

9.  If money were no object, where would you like to live?

Another tough one…but probably somewhere where the nearest neighbor was at least five miles away. Or St. Andrew’s Scotland.  Ah, Scotland.  On the bucketlist…Would love to play the course, too.  Yes, I play golf.  Don’t laugh.
10.  What’s next for you?

Currently waiting for the edits for my next 1NightStand story, For Me, due from Decadent Publishing this fall and fending off the people in my head with at least a dozen works in progress!

A year after losing her beloved husband, Grace Witzler learns he left a special surprise for her. A fabulous getaway in the beautiful Canadian Rockies that includes a date with a mystery man arranged through Madame Eve’s 1NightStand dating service. She’s shocked and intrigued…what was Ben thinking?

Grace’s date is charming, handsome and about to find out whether the woman of his dreams will return his affection. He’s waited forever, but he’s reading to risk it all on a 1NightStand.

“Grace.” The deep voice worked its way into her consciousness.

She sighed in her haziness and clutched the imaginary hand resting on her tummy. Whoever or whatever held her carried a familiar scent, one that elicited trust and caring.

Out on the porch, the mountain air had chilled. Despite the comfort of the presence around her, her body responded with a shiver.

A hand slipped into the lace triangle of her thong, caressing the area between navel and Nirvana.

Definitely not a dream.

She blinked, slowly coming to life. The frightened tone of her inquiry shocked even her “Who are you?”

Relax.” His lips lovingly met her shoulder. “Ben sent me.”

He didn’t seem to have any malicious intent—well, at least not at the moment. And Madame Eve wouldn’t allow something hurtful to happen.

“What do you…?” The hand cupped her waxed-for-the-occasion pubic area. His callused digits followed a natural path. It’d been so long since someone had touched her in this manner, nearly two years. She didn’t blame Ben for the extended dry spell, only the disease which had dampened his interest and stamina.

“I want you to relax and let me make love to you. That’s what you want, isn’t it?”

So, this is how this Madame Eve stuff works.

With little thought, she relented to her physical loneliness. She closed her eyes and shoved the lace below her hips. The stranger assisted until her legs were completely bare. “Yes, please.”

He was strong, agile, and wonderfully gentle.

A warm, sincere, somewhat familiar voice tickled her ear. “Grace.”

She leaned into him, wanting to sigh in happy relief and cry in terrible sadness. His arms about her, she slowly turned into his embrace. She closed her eyes, waiting for the initial kiss.

Then, it came, gentle yet deep and although he was a stranger, she felt a profound connection, a silent conversation. She raised her hand to touch his cheek in encouragement. Blinking in the darkness, desperately wanting to see her soon-to-be lover, her eyes finally focused and the world came to an abrupt halt.

He He!  I got to read a “naughty” book.  Only Harlie doesn’t know that I read it off her Kindle.  Don’t tell.  OMG, know I know why Harlie raves about this series.  They are short, hawt and emotional stories that have me totally hooked now.  When I was signed up for the hop, I had no idea what author I was gonna get to spotlight and I’m super excited it was Ms. Burke.  She writes a highly emotional story that captured me from the start.

I’ve heard of dying spouses that try to fix up their respective spouses in situations like this and I’m not sure what I think about it all.  Ms. Burke makes sense of it all with her wonderful tale of Grace, Ben and Jake.  Jake has been in love with Grace since forever and was there for her when Ben got sick and passed away.  She never looked at Jake as anything as more than a friend, someone that helped her through the hard times and that special someone that made her laugh in her darkest time of her life.

Getting an invitation from Madame Eve for a week a way near the place that Grace and Ben had their honeymoon is bitter sweet.  Deciding why not, she packed her bags and went.  Ben thought of everything for her, just like he always did.  *sigh*  The IM messages between Grace and Madame Eve were funny.  Grace was a strong heroine for me and I can not even fathom what she went through with the death of her husband but I could understand the “why” she was skeptical on the whole idea that her husband had picked her “date” for the week.

I’m not sure what else to say except that I loved Ben, Grace and Jake.  Ben was a dream from beyond the grave.  He paid attention to his wife’s every want and need when he was with her.  Jake was the guy next door that waited and hid his true feelings from the only woman that he loved.  Grace didn’t know what to think at first but once she discovered that her “date” was Jake…the conversations between them were emotional, heartfelt and honest.  I truly felt connected with them even though the story was short.  🙂

Now that I’m completely hooked on the whole Madame Eve/1NS, I will be sneaking more of them off of Harlie’s Kindle.  Oh wait…I can just buy them on my own.  :p

Introducing Tease by Decadent Publishing, featuring Cursed by Cate Masters – Guest Blog/Excerpt/Giveaway

Introducing Tease by Decadent Publishing, featuring Cursed by Cate Masters – Guest Blog/Excerpt/Giveaway

Geeky heroine seeks alpha male

Heroine – statuesque, blonde, into reading, the arts, and light rock music. I love my work as a genetic scientist but I also like to play with fire. Literally.

Looking for intelligent, caring, cultured alpha male for long gondola rides, interesting enough to show me the Venetian sites but also open to a walk on the wild side.

Men whose definition of risk only applies to their financial portfolios need not apply. I’m looking for the real thing.

Contact Melina Weaver at 555-5555.

Doesn’t it always seem like the two people you’d never put together as a couple also make the best couples? And once you look a little deeper, beyond the surface, then you get it. Oh riiiight. He’s perfect for her because he’s exactly what she said she wanted – intelligent, caring, cultured – definitely an alpha male. And off-the-charts sexy. With a touch of something extra…

Yes, she’s a bit of a geek. Spends waaay too many long hours at the lab. Her work with the hormone oxytocin is a little hard to follow, especially when she explains it (she could talk about it all night, and passionately, too, but you’d understand none of it). You might as well read an article in a scientific journal about how this so-called “love drug” affects each person differently. When given to mothers, they can become more nurturing. When given to someone with a criminal bent, it twists that bent into something like the crude knives convicts sometimes make in prison.

Melina understands what a danger this presents, but can’t seem to make her employer understand. But she doesn’t combat her stress and frustration with meditative practices. Instead, she takes up fire dancing. (She wasn’t kidding in the ad when she said she likes to play with fire – literally! lol)

No problem. Alpha males are great at handling fiery women. *grins*

Here’s a peek at Cursed:

The Vitruvian Man, book 1

by Cate Masters

Paranormal romance novella

Available April 24 from Decadent Tease:

Ten days of freedom. That’s all Fate had allotted me each year. In the streets of Venice, I could walk among them. Mingle. Belong.

During Carnevale, they had no idea who I was. What I was.

For ten days, it didn’t matter.

Until I met her.

Bruno diCesare lives alone by necessity, not choice. An experiment performed by Leonardo da Vinci, who believed having a dual DNA would grant a person immortality, used magic to render Bruno a chimera – the head of a lion, body of a dragon. The only time he can mingle with people is during Carnevale, ten glorious days of masked anonymity, frivolity and intimacy.

Melina Weaver learned fire dancing to enliven her dull existence. A scientist, her long hours at the lab leave no time for a social life. For ten days at Carnevale, she can pretend to be someone else. Someone sexy and daring, who lives on the edge.

Once she meets Bruno, her wish comes true, but everything goes terribly wrong. Beneath Bruno’s costume lurks an alpha male, but is he dangerous? Worse, can she return to an employer who sells her research to the military to make an army of efficient killers? Her only hope may lie with the man she’s just met and never seen.

Light danced in his dark eyes. “I must admit, your fire dancing fascinated me. What made you choose such a dangerous skill to master?”

“The thrill of the challenge, I suppose.” It balanced the rest of her mundane life, to a degree. Mastering each new level gave her a sense of achievement, where work couldn’t.

Something flashed through his dark eyes. “Mistakes must be very painful.”

“I practiced a long time before I worked up the nerve to actually light the wands. I found the fire great incentive to focus, however.” God, her grin must be goofy, the way he stared. Such gorgeous eyes, such a deep brown they almost appeared black. He probably had rugged features, if his large hands provided any indication. Too bad he wore gloves, another barrier between them.

“Yes,” he said, “I imagine so.”

“What about you? What other magic do you know?” Oh please, can you get any more ridiculous? It sounded like a line from a bad chick flick.

The crinkle around his eyes was the only evidence of his smile, but enough to charm her.

“Lifetimes of studying the dark arts have provided me with many tricks.”

“Lifetimes?” she blurted.

He stiffened in her arms. “Pardon?”

She watched him carefully. “You said ‘lifetimes’. Plural.” And what the hell did he mean by ‘dark arts’?

Rigidity masked the grace of his movements. “I’m sure you’re mistaken.” He stared over her head as they whirled to the song’s rhythm.

Mistaken my ass. How very strange. More strange that the question upset him. He’d clammed up, and his muscles were so tense, she expected him to bolt. Better to drop it. For now. “Must have been a slip of the tongue.”

“Yes.” Relief sounded in his tone, though guarded.

This man had something to hide. How intriguing.
