Ivy, a witch who spends her days practicing her brand of good magic in a sleepy little city, often travels back in time to observe events of yesteryear and turn them into compelling stories for her modern-day fans. But as her uncanny ability to weave enthralling historic tales lands her in the limelight, she quickly finds that fame sometimes comes with a price.
Evil forces now know who she is and threaten to reveal her family’s most sacred magical secrets.
With the help of her ruggedly handsome editor and a sexy supernatural ex-boyfriend, Ivy must unravel history while fighting to keep these ominous forces at bay.
Will Ivy be able to make the ultimate sacrifice for the people she loves the most?
Interview Questions from Pink
Top ten things you don’t know about me:
1. Cotton or Silk?
I love silk, but as a mother of little ones, cotton it is (for now).
I generally start out with an outline for the novel and I have a particular destination in mind, but once I start writing, the story forms organically. I always know the beginning and the end, but the middle sometimes surprises me.
4. Describe your workspace
My desk overlooks my very wooded backyard. I have a very serene landscape for writing. I inherited my grandfather’s desk and I have it in my office. It’s where I write everyday. Adjacent to my desk is a long table where I keep my inspiration board, dictionary, thesaurus and lots of snacks.
5. Sports fan or just tolerate it?
I am an avid sports fan. As a Tar Heel, college basketball comes first, but I also love football and baseball. I play on several fantasy sports leagues, and watching games is a regular activity at our house.
6. Who is your biggest influence on writing?
That’s a great question. I was lucky to be encouraged from an early age to write. I had wonderful teachers and a great family support system who were eager to read my stories.
As a reader myself, some of the literary influences who impacted my love for writing were: L.M. Montgomery, C.S. Lewis, Margaret Mitchell, and Herman Wouk. (This list could go on and on).
7. Favorite food –
Pasta—I am a carb girl. I can eat pasta anytime.
8. When did you start writing?
I wrote my first series when I was in the first grade. I believe I was seven-years-old. It was about a group of fairies who lived in the woods and befriended animals. I have plans to publish it as a children’s book.
9. If money were no object, where would you like to live?
Without a doubt, I would be on the beach somewhere!
10. What’s next for you?
I am currently working on the edits and production for Cover Spell, the second book in the Ivy Grace Spell Series. I have a total of four books planned for this series, but I am also working on a stand-alone spin-off for one of the characters. I can’t wait to share the rest of the series with everyone.
T.A. Foster is a Southern girl whose heart and spirit are connected to the beach. She grew up catching rays and chasing waves along the North Carolina Outer Banks and now resides in the state with her adventurous pilot husband, two children and two canine kiddos.
Her long love affair with books started at an early age and as soon as she was able, she transformed imaginative stories into words on paper. Time Spell is T.A.’s debut novel, and the first in a series about a very adventurous, clever, and magical girl named Ivy.
T.A. has an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. When she’s not chasing her two-legged and four-legged children or trying to escape for date night, you can find her reading, writing or planning her next beach trip.
